Does the KidsKultur program have anything to do with school or daycare?

The KidsKultur program is independent of schools and daycare, offering a unique complement to their educational offerings. It provides a holistic approach for children aged 6 to 8, going far beyond what traditional educational institutions provide. The focus is on the cultural and social world of adults, made accessible through creative exploration.

What distinguishes KidsKultur from school or daycare?
  • No rigid group roles: Each child has the opportunity to see themselves and others in a new light and is encouraged to try new things.
  • Varied experiences instead of repetitions: Rooms, activities, groups, and themes constantly change, keeping the children curious and giving them many first-time experiences.
  • Encouraging adaptability: Children regularly adapt to new spaces, situations, and groups, strengthening their social skills and flexibility.
  • Free thematic design: Monthly curated, hands-on, and child-friendly themes encourage creative learning.
Small groups: A maximum of seven children per group allows for individualized attention and targeted support.
  • Holistic learning: The "Mind, Body & Soul" concept promotes intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development in children.
  • Individual growth: The personal development of children is supported so they can discover and further develop their own interests.
  • Authentic thematic access: The programs are not simplified or manipulated for so-called child-friendliness. Children naturally find their own way to approach complex topics and experience adult-world content without being patronized or having reality distorted.
  • Flexibility in thinking: Children learn to switch between magical thinking and concreteness without being confined to rigid structures or fixed routines.
Are there KidsKultur programs for children older than 8 years?

Programs for older children are being planned, but there's already an opportunity to join: the older child can take on special tasks and act as a mentor to support younger children in exploration. This allows them to benefit developmentally from the topics or enrich the group's competencies.

Siblings can often participate together.

I want a child to participate, but we can't afford it.

Inclusion is an integral part of our program. We make it possible for all children to try us out. An email is enough to enable participation.

Can I accompany a child?

Adults sometimes need a break from children, and children sometimes need it too. There's an introductory meeting where an adult accompanies the child. After that, children, especially those aged 6 to 8, look forward to spending time with their peers. Our program is designed with this in mind!

Are the topics child-friendly?

All events, locations, and topics are checked for age-appropriateness. Topics requiring special adult guidance are labeled as "sensitive." Parents can assess their children well and decide if a topic is suitable.

Is there a subscription option so I don't have to pay each time individually?

Currently, a subscription program is not available online. However, we are happy to add you to our "waiting list" if you're interested.

Does KidsKultur also offer children's trips?

Yes, we offer day trips. Children bring their own provisions and receive a meal of their choice on-site. Parents can track the group via a location service.

Can I reach my child during the trip?

Yes, but please only if necessary. Likewise, children can call or Facetime home if needed, which promotes media literacy.

Are the same children in each group every time?

No, the composition varies to promote social skills like teamwork and relationship building. Siblings and close friends can participate together, of course.

Can KidsKultur be booked for a birthday party?

KidsKultur offers themed workshops for special occasions like birthdays, though the focus is on educational enrichment rather than entertainment.

Are there English-speaking groups at KidsKultur?

Yes, soon there will be English-speaking groups on Sundays.

Why are only 7 children allowed in a group?

To ensure supervision, small groups of a maximum of seven children are essential. This group size allows us to ensure the following aspects:

  • Individual attention: Each child receives the necessary support and attention.
  • Stronger bonds: Children can form closer relationships with each other and their caregivers.
  • Encouraging confidence: With more space and time, each child can freely develop their abilities.
  • Targeted support: Themes and activities are tailored to the individual needs of the children.
  • Intensive interaction: Close contact between children and caregivers enables deeper conversations and learning experiences.
  • Safe environment: The manageable group size creates an atmosphere where children feel comfortable and secure.

Can I, as an adult, learn how to impart cultural education to children?

Can organizations work with KidsKultur?
