Children Explore Culture!
...Or What Makes KidsKultur Special
Curated Monthly Themes
KidsKultur offers children the opportunity to explore the adult cultural landscape through carefully curated monthly themes, with events held weekly (every Saturday from 12:00 to 17:00).
Small Groups
All explorations take place in small focus groups of up to 7 children. This ensures individualized support and care, effective observation, intensive promotion of social skills, reduction of stress, avoidance of under- and over-challenging situations, and an ideal learning environment. *Englisch speaking groups are planned
No Adults, Please
KidsKultur provides a safe space where children can explore cultural worlds without explanations or interference from adults. The themes are chosen and developed by the children. The monthly program is developed and curated in alignment with these themes. The explorations are structured and conducted by the children themselves, with experienced children guiding new ones in the ever-changing groups.
No Adultism
Adultism is a form of discrimination and disadvantage against children based on their age. It involves viewing adults as superior and often not recognizing children as fully competent individuals. This is a deficit-oriented view of children and their abilities. Adults may have various reasons for this: exaggerated protective instincts, perceived lack of maturity in children, supposed preservation of childhood, exercise of control and power, alleged avoidance of overwhelming situations, social norms and taboos, and general underestimation of children’s abilities. KidsKultur views children as competent, self-building, and self-structuring. It offers developmentally appropriate access to spaces, themes, and experiences often denied to children due to adultism.
Only First Times
At KidsKultur, there are no useless repetitions. Even when children visit familiar places, every exploration brings new approaches, children, activities, tasks, media, and perspectives on the current theme. This keeps the children curious, allows them to discover new things, and helps them stay "in the flow" with all their senses.
Methodology and Social Skills
Each KidsKultur exploration teaches children useful methods, techniques, as well as documentation and presentation skills, encouraging them to reclaim public spaces. Additionally, the children always meet new peers, thereby enhancing their social skills.
Independent and Self-Reliant
Every child deserves to be viewed anew and to redefine themselves without prejudice, labels, or fixed roles. We generally do not conduct activities that the children are familiar with from school or daycare. While international state educational programs and research findings inspire KidsKultur, our program is not affiliated with schools or daycare centers.
Outdoor and Movement
All events are structured according to the "Body, Mind & Soul" principle. Fresh air, plenty of movement, and rest periods are always integrated. The children decide for themselves what they need and when!
Inclusive and Open
KidsKultur supports all children regardless of gender, economic, cultural, or religious background. Every child has the right to cultural education. Feel free to contact me!
