My First Trip - Off to Potsdam Without Parents

Following the incredible success of our first trip (without parents) to Hamburg in 2023, the children expressed a desire to travel again. Although some wanted to return to Hamburg (a ferry ride is unbeatable), I, together with the parents, decided on Potsdam.

Nature, Parks, and History

In addition to history and culture, there was plenty to discover in terms of nature and parks, playgrounds, amusement parks, and child-friendly museums. The expansive Sanssouci Park provided us with ample space for exploration and discovery. The children could stroll through the gardens, admire the water features and fountains, and explore various small buildings like the Chinese House and the Roman Baths. The beautiful green spaces in the park were ideal for a break, allowing the children to play freely, run around, and enjoy nature.

Architecture

We also used our visit to learn about the Rococo style, with its curving shapes, playful ornaments, bright colors, and rich decorations. As always, I was able to surprise the children with various activities and materials I brought along, integrating them into a holistic educational experience on-site!
