What was going on in June?
In June, the KulturKids embarked on an exciting journey of discovery with FRAMED e.V. into the world of a festival.
Once again, KidsKultur gave the children access to spaces, situations, and people that are often out of reach for them.
At FRAMED e.V., an interdisciplinary art salon in Berlin, the KulturKids got a behind-the-scenes look at how a festival comes to life – from the first idea to the planning and realization.
They discovered what happens when people come together to celebrate something beautiful
The participating artists came from many different countries and spoke a wide variety of languages.
For the children, the festival became an adventure playground for the senses – filled with art.
The KulturKids met artists, explored backstage areas, and created their own contributions.
They experienced soundchecks, had conversations with the organizers, and learned what it means to be part of a creative process.
In this way, they discovered the richness and diversity of art and culture.
By combining theory and practice, the children learned how a festival program is created, why the festival is called “FRAMED,” and how language, music, and visual art come together.
They gained an understanding of cultural diversity – and of the importance of shared experiences.
All children aged 6 to 10 who were registered with KidsKultur were welcome to participate in the events.

Mind, Body & Soul
Mind
- In the Mind section, the children thought independently, asked questions, developed ideas, and engaged with cultural forms of expression.
- They reflected on what a festival meant to them, designed their own visions of a festival, interviewed artists, and learned about new professions.
Body
- In the Body section, they moved freely – dancing to live music, exploring exhibitions, or enjoying the open-air festival space.
- They experienced how sound, space, and movement are connected and learned to perceive their bodies more consciously.
Soul
- In the Soul section, they felt a sense of community, curiosity, and the inspiration that arises when people live art together.
- They met new friends, shared thoughts, and practiced valuing their own ideas – for example, in sketchbooks or small performances.
This festival experience not only strengthened the children's knowledge but also their self-confidence, body awareness, and emotional expression. They felt: Art can move – inside and out.
