An exclusive "Dance Therapeutic Self-Esteem Coaching"

What Happened in October?

In October, the children of KidsKultur participated in three workshops in collaboration with breakdancer, dance and performance coach, and trainer Maku Gold, alongside the Boseclub, a children's and youth facility in Berlin.

The theme of the workshop was particularly important as many of the children, aged 6 to 8, were experiencing growth spurts, which bring both physical and emotional challenges. Parents often notice that their children stumble over their own feet, bump into things, have difficulties with fine and gross motor coordination, and struggle to integrate new experiences in different situations or to regulate themselves.

These workshops, based on KidsKultur’s "Mind, Body & Soul" concept, offered the children a valuable opportunity to experience their bodies in a holistic way. They learned to control their breathing, explore creative movements, and playfully integrate social movement games into their daily lives.

BODY

In the Body aspect, the workshop helped the children develop a deeper sense of body awareness. Through mindful movements and dance impulses, they learned how to perceive and control their bodies more effectively. Moving the workshop outside to the Bosepark, supported by the beautiful weather, allowed the children to express their need for movement in an open and natural environment. They participated in active and energetic exercises that improved their gross motor skills and coordination. At the same time, techniques like autogenic training and relaxation exercises were incorporated, helping them to recover from physical exertion and find inner calm.

MIND

On the Mind level, the workshop promoted emotional self-regulation and reflection. In the final session, the children had the opportunity to express what they had experienced through language, colors and shapes, which strengthened their communication and creative expression. This visual reflection was an important complement to the physical exercises, as it helped the children process their emotions and experiences on a more conscious level. The interplay of body and mind thus laid the foundation for the Soul element of the concept, where the children developed a deeper understanding of themselves and found inner balance through dance and creativity.

SOUL

The self-exploration workshops, consisting of bodywork, dance, meditation, and autogenic training methods, helped the participating children to develop emotionally and spiritually by giving them the opportunity to express their feelings and inner processes through their bodies. Through targeted dance and movement exercises, the children learned to sharpen their body awareness, explore new movement patterns, and use conscious bodywork as a tool for processing emotions. This not only improved their physical agility but also gave them the opportunity to release emotional tensions and develop a deeper understanding of their own needs and boundaries.

The integration of meditation and autogenic training played a central role in offering the children a space for inner calm and mindfulness. These methods helped them focus on their bodies, reduce stress, and create a connection between body and soul. By combining physical activity with conscious relaxation, the children were able to develop not only their physical abilities but also find emotional balance, which was crucial for their spiritual development. Thus, the workshops fostered not only physical fitness but also self-confidence, inner strength, and resilience.
